Stars and The Sea is a three piece rock band with post-punk influences from Baltimore, Maryland. Stars and The Sea was formed in 2008 by guitarist/vocalist Shane Gardner with later addition of drummer John Leatherman and Bassist Brian Ison.
Stars and The Sea presents an enticing blend of gothic-drenched post-punk rock & roll with lyrics that are melancholy as they are romantic, as sweet and saccharine as they are bitter and black.
Stars and The Sea's song "Beautiful Odd Girl" was selected as a semi-finalist in the 2011 International Songwriting Competition (ISC).
Stars and The Sea's influences are a mix of Bauhaus, Peter Murphy, Iggy Pop, Jeff Buckley The Church and AC/DC Their sound is described as a mix of post punk and British influenced Rock.
